Join the Peconic Land Trust at the U.S. Coast Guard Station for a day of marine-centered fun! Get up close to a helicopter and marine craft used for sea rescue and meet the brave women and men who dedicate their lives to keeping commercial and recreational fishermen safe. Scheduled activities include the NYS DEC pulling in a seine net to see what animals make these waters their home, the Riverhead Foundation releasing a rehabilitated seal into the bay, and the Suffolk Sheriff’s K-9 demonstration. Come and participate in a variety of activities offered by local environmental partners.
