Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Trust’s Shellfisher Preserve to look at the operations of a working mariculture facility. You’ll meet Peter Stein, owner of Peeko Oysters, whose oysters get their start at this facility. Visit the hatchery where shellfish are spawned and spat (baby shellfish) are produced and grown to planting size, then hear about the final steps of bringing the shellfish to market. Finish the tour with a taste of fresh-from-the-water Peeko Oysters paired with a glass of local wine. Seating is limited, bring a folding chair and we will transport it to the shoreline.
$35/person. Space is limited, prepaid reservations required. Parking is limited, please carpool. Rain cancels.
