Summer Campers from Project MOST Visit Bridge Gardens

On August 20, the Gardens were alive with excitement and discovery! Twenty three 4th and 5th graders arrived from East Hampton’s Project MOST summer camp to explore the garden, plant seeds, and create garden-inspired art with camp educators.
Garden Director Rick Bogusch guided the students in planting bean seeds in compostable pots for the students to take home and grow. Seeing the nearby herb and vegetable beds, the Trust's Kathy Kennedy led them on a walk through the lush 4-quadrant herb garden, and shared information about the wide variety of herbs and their uses. The group continued to the vegetable garden where they saw green beans, squash, beets, carrots and more and enjoyed tasting cilantro and berries straight from the garden.
The camp visit culminated with an art project for which the children selected flowers, leaves and natural materials from the garden and created works of art using oil pastels.
A lot was packed into the visit! We look forward to their return next summer to experience all that Bridge Gardens offers at the height of the season.
