Being a part of the Peconic Land Trust team as a Land Steward Associate is an opportunity that I am honored to be able to have. From a young age, I was always outdoors, whether it was riding my bike in the trails behind my house or running around, playing sports with my friends. Being a part of the Land Trust feels like a blessing in disguise, as it has given me an opportunity to use the very things I grew up enjoying towards a greater mission here at the Trust.
I grew up on Eastern Long Island and plan to stay here for as long as I possibly can, as it is such a beautiful and unique place. Joining the team at the Peconic Land Trust has only made me more appreciative of the place I call home. Living near vast stretches of farmland but also being able to end up at an ocean beach in nothing more than a 15-minute drive is truly something to cherish.
Prior to joining the Trust, I was away at Purchase College, playing baseball alongside my brother, Justin. Until this point, I spent my whole life playing baseball and truly learned to love the outdoors. When I was approached by the Stewardship team with a position, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. This position has allowed me to learn so much about the land on Long Island, and I hope to continue to learn as time goes on.
With that being said, I am extremely honored and privileged to be able to do what I do, here at the Trust, towards a mission to protect the land we all live on and love from now until forever!
