Bridge Gardens, a Gathering Place

Since Bridge Gardens was donated to Peconic Land Trust in 2008 by Jim Kilpatric and Harry Neyens, it has grown to become a community resource and meeting space it was always meant to be. Just in the last month, we’ve hosted several local garden clubs for a guided walk with Garden Director Rick Bogusch to learn about the wide variety of herbs, vegetables, roses, perennials, trees and shrubs throughout the grounds. In addition to these tours, the Gardens are a beloved destination for a variety of community organizations that bring children and families to interact in the landscape. These include the students from The Center who visit during the growing season to learn how to grow and enjoy food right off the vine, young patrons of Hampton Library as part of their summer Story Time series, budding artists with the Bridgehampton Historical Museum’s art workshops and the summer campers of Shine Studios.
Bridge Gardens is also excited to see the return of Uncommon Ground VI, a landscape-scale sculpture exhibition featuring internationally recognized and museum-collected artists. Plan your visit after the first week of June to experience these beautiful works, curated by Cheryl Sokolow of C. Fine Art. Artists in the show include Kevin Barrett, Norman Mooney, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, John Clement, Jane Manus, Jerelyn Hanrahan, Isobel Folb Sokolow, Carole Eisner, Joel Perlman, Alex Barrett, Steve Zalusky, and Aurelio Torres.
Bridge Gardens members will also enjoy four music nights this season! Not yet a member? Now is the perfect time to join the garden and enjoy all that it offers. Simply visit www.BridgeGardens.org for more information. We look forward to welcoming you!
