Conserving Long Islands Working Farms and Natural Lands

Peconinic

PE-CON-IN-IC: (n) 1.a picnic, 2. a potluck, 3. a friendly gathering in celebration of land conservation, 4. a special thank you to all supporters of the Peconic Land Trust.

Each year, the Peconic Land Trust hosts a celebration to honor our supporters and the land that has been protected through our conservation work -- the Peconinic. All donors, volunteers, and friends of the Peconic Land Trust are invited to a potluck picnic on spectacular land that has been protected from development through our work. Since 1985, the Peconinic has taken place on fields dotted with wildflowers, rich farmland, open lands with magnificent water views, a buffalo farm, meadows ringed by woodland, horse farms, and many other beautiful sites. Several hundred supporters attend each year, enjoying the delicious food, good music and camaraderie.

The 2017 Peconinic was held at Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead on a beautiful afternoon in early June.  A wonderful time was had by all!  Join us next year.
