Join us as the Trust teams up with Madoo Conservancy for a series of four lectures focused on a variety of topics! Starting in January, and ending in April 2010, Bridge Gardens and Madoo Conservancy will be the settings for fun and informative discussions on a variety of topics featuring well-known horticultural talent. In this first program, Vincent A. Simeone, Director of Planting Fields Arboretum, will present "The Wonders of the Winter Landscape." Mr. Simeone will focus on the interesting characteristics of winter-dormant plants, including growth habit, ornamental fruit, interesting bark, as well as evergreen foliage and texture. The presentation will include a variety of ideas on enhancing the aesthetic value and interest of the garden using horticultural treasures such as winter fruiting plants, broadleaved evergreens, conifers and trees with interesting bark.
$20 per program for members, $25 for non-members. Refreshments will follow each program. For more information, and to register, please call 631.283.3195 or email to events@peconiclandtrust.org.
