10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Barns exist all over Southampton Town. Old and new, large and small, and used for a variety of purposes, barns continue to infuse the town with a valuable nostalgic aesthetic. To honor the agricultural heritage represented by these barns, the Trust is pleased to partner with the Bridgehampton Historical Society in hosting their 2012 Barn Tour.

Ten barns will be open for self-guided public tours, including several converted into houses, some actively used for farming, and a number that are linked to founding Southampton families.

Building Green, Inside and Out
Bridge Gardens, 36 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton

1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Can you create a stylish and beautiful home that's comfortable, healthy, fun to live in - and environmentally friendly?

In this final talk of Bridge Gardens' 2012 lecture series, a panel of experts will tackle the question of how to make responsible decisions when building, remodeling or decorating, without sacrificing Hamptons style.

Using an East End renovation project as a case study, the panel will take us from siting to furnishing, looking at the processes and materials that minimize impact on the land and create the healthiest, most energy-efficient environment for living.

Panelist Peter Sabbeth is a Sag Harbor developer and co-founder of Modern Green Home, creators of the 2008 HC&G Idea House in Sagaponack. Joining Peter are Carolyn Tierney of ECOterior Solutions and Kati Curtis of Nirmada, New York-based interior designers known for their creative use of eco-conscious materials in interiors on the East End and around the country. Ed Krug of PitchBlue will make the case for the factory-built house alternative, and will moderate the discussion.

$15/person, free to current Bridge Gardens members. Space is limited and reservations are strongly suggested. Refreshments will be provided following the presentation. Please park on premises.
